The Lead Acid Battery technologies is more than 150 years old and we still rely on this to start our EVs. These batteries have a life which can be as short as 2 years and when they fail our Electric Cars to not start even though we might have a 75KW Lithiom Ion Battery under our car. One way to ensure you can always start your EV is to use a trickle charger to add power to the battery using a small amount of solar energy.
This is ideal for example when you leave the EV at the airport for 2 week or if you are away and leaving the Tesla at home for a few weeks.
This is not going to add power to your Lithium Ion Driving Battery but remember that battery cannot start the car with the 12 Volt 19th Century Technology battery being relied on to do that. The Solar Trickle Charger can push the limits of your 12 Volt Battery giving you a new option which does work.
Please note you should always ensure you have the correct cables to connect to your Tesla as finding out in an emergency you do not is the wrong time. The cables with this solar charger are designed for all EVs and as we know in the Tesla sometimes getting to the battery and the distance between the connections can be different to regular EVs so if you need extensions for your Tesla to make this work then best to find out when planning rather than during an emergency
